Borrow My Voice

Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: August 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Borrow My Voice LLC, doing business as Borrow My Voice (“Borrow My Voice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, protects, and shares information through BorrowMyVoice.net and our related website services.

1. Our privacy approach

Borrow My Voice is designed to be a supportive listening experience. We aim to collect only information reasonably needed to operate the website, provide account and listening features, respond to requests, understand what support people are looking for, and improve the service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use private personalized-request information for targeted advertising, and we do not use private scripts, stories, pronunciation information, personalized requests, or private Member Portal messages to train generative-AI models.

2. Information you choose to provide

If you create a free Member account, we collect the information needed to create and secure that account, including your email address. Member newsletters and audio updates are delivered inside the Member Portal rather than as promotional email newsletters.

If you join the Mobile App Launch Waitlist, we collect your email address so we can notify you about the Borrow My Voice app launch. You may also optionally tell us what you are looking for in the app; we use that feedback to understand prospective-user priorities and help guide product planning.

If you request a personalized recording, we may collect your name and email address; the intended recipient's full name and birth date; your relationship to the recipient; the occasion or reason; the message or context you provide; preferred tone; pronunciation notes; length preference; requested timing; and, when you arrive through the library-first intake flow, the recording that was suggested as the closest existing match. Recipient birth dates are kept private and used only to prepare and personalize the requested recording.

Please provide only information reasonably necessary for the request. Do not send passwords, government identification numbers, payment-card numbers, detailed medical records, or unnecessary confidential information.

3. Information about other people

If you request a recording for another person, you are responsible for providing only information you are lawfully permitted to share, including the recipient's name and birth date. Please avoid unnecessary medical, financial, intimate, identifying, or other sensitive details about another person.

4. Technical, search, and usage information

Our hosting, security, analytics, authentication, payment, and embedded-media providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, pages viewed, and diagnostic or security information.

When you use the Borrow My Voice library search or the library-first personalized-intake search, we may store the words you searched, the number of matching recordings, the part of the site where the search occurred, and the time of the search. We use this information to understand listener demand, identify missing support topics, improve discovery, and reduce unnecessary duplication in the library. Search analytics records are not designed to include your name, email address, or account identity. Please avoid putting names or other identifying details into a search box.

When you are signed in as a Member, we may store the recordings you choose to play or save, playback progress, whether a recording was completed, and recent listening activity. We use this account-based listening history to restore listening progress, make the library easier to navigate, provide a private “For You” experience, and offer occasional in-portal suggestions related to recordings you deliberately played or saved. These suggestions are discovery tools and are not medical or mental-health diagnoses.

Public comments or messages directed to Borrow My Voice on connected social platforms may be processed to help us identify ordinary engagement, questions, content requests, testimonial signals, personalized-recording interest, partnership inquiries, or safety-sensitive language that warrants human attention. Safety-sensitive language is separated from sales and client-acquisition workflows.

When someone uses “Send this support to someone,” we may create a random referral token and record limited events such as a share being started, the shared recording page being opened, and the shared recording being played. This word-of-mouth measurement is designed to work without storing the sender's or recipient's name, email address, or account identity in the referral record.

The website currently uses services that may include Vercel for hosting and analytics, Supabase for database, authentication, and media services, Stripe for payments, Resend for required transactional email, Google services for certain business records, and YouTube for embedded video. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.

5. How we use information

  • operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and Member Portal;
  • provide account-based Studio, saved-preference, inbox, and subscription features;
  • remember signed-in listening progress and provide private recommendations based on recordings a Member deliberately plays or saves;
  • deliver Member newsletters, audio updates, and limited behavior-based listening suggestions inside the Member Portal;
  • maintain the separate Mobile App Launch Waitlist and send requested app-launch communications;
  • review optional app-interest feedback to improve product planning;
  • understand search demand, identify content gaps, and improve library discovery;
  • review connected social engagement for questions, requests, client or partnership signals, and safety-sensitive items requiring human attention;
  • measure anonymous word-of-mouth sharing and whether shared support is opened or played;
  • review, prepare, personalize, and fulfill personalized-recording requests;
  • communicate about availability, pricing, fulfillment, billing, or support;
  • prevent abuse, fraud, spam, or unauthorized access;
  • understand aggregate website use and improve the service; and
  • comply with applicable law and maintain appropriate business records.

6. How information is shared

We may share limited information with service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, process payments, analyze, communicate, or process website submissions. They may process information only as needed to provide those services, subject to their applicable obligations.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security incidents, or enforce our terms.

7. Children and family use

Borrow My Voice public content is general-audience content and may be appropriate for listeners of different ages, but it is not created specifically for children.

Accounts are for people age 13 or older. Children under 13 should not submit personal information through the app waitlist, personalized-request, contact, or similar forms. Those interactions should be handled by a parent, guardian, or other legally authorized adult. Paid personalized services are intended to be requested and purchased by adults, even when the recording is for a younger listener.

If we learn that personal information was submitted directly by a child under 13 in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

8. Retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including account operation, communication preferences, listening personalization, app-launch notifications, fulfillment, security, product and content-demand analysis, tax or business records, dispute resolution, and legal obligations.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including restricted administrative access and secure service providers. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and requests

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, ask to be removed from the Mobile App Launch Waitlist, or ask to stop other nonessential communications by contacting hello@borrowmyvoice.net. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify a request.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Borrow My Voice evolves. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law.

Questions about these terms or policies may be sent to hello@borrowmyvoice.net.
